Doctrinal Distinctives
The Bible
We hold that the Bible is the Word of God, authoritative in all it affirms, fully inspired and inerrant in the original manuscripts. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
The Trinity
One God (monotheism) and yet existing in three persons in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (trinity), each possessing full deity (Matt. 28:19-20; 2 Cor. 13:14).
Jesus Christ
Jesus’ nature is that of full divinity and full humanity. (Phil 2:6-8)
Salvation
Salvation by grace through faith alone (Eph. 2:8-9), made possible by Christ’s substitutionary atonement (Mark 10:45, 2 Cor 5:21).
The Church
The universal church is the Body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23), while the local church is the assembled body of believers for the purpose of teaching, fellowship, worship and prayer (Ac. 2:42; Heb. 10:25).
Ordinances
Two practicing ordinances: 1) The Lord’s Table (communion) in which the elements (bread and wine) are symbolic (I Cor. 11:17-34) and 2) Water Baptism in which the mode is by immersion (Ac. 8:36-39).
End Times
A pretribulation rapture (I Thess. 4:13-18) and a premillennial return of Christ in which He sets up His literal 1000 year reign on earth (Rev. 20:1-6).
Missions
The Church is responsible for carrying out the ‘Great Command’ to love God and people (Matt. 22:36-39) and the ‘Great Commission’ to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20).
