2024 Shoebox Ministry: Sunday, Oct. 27th, marks the official Kick-Off of our Shoebox Ministry!  From October 1-31st, there will be a special love offering for the Shoebox ministry in preparation for this year's shoeboxes.  For Online Giving, please select the Fund Designation “Benevolent Fund”.  For all other donations, please indicate on the check or donation envelope, it is for “Love – Shoebox”.  More details to follow in the next few weeks on packing and collecting shoeboxes. Empty shoeboxes can be dropped off outside sanctuary underneath the stairway.  If you would like to serve in this ministry, please contact Lannie Mok or Cynthia Lim or email A friendly reminder that in addition to candies and toothpaste, soap is also not allowed inside the shoeboxes. Shoebox Send-off will be November 24.

There will be a community health fair at the Alameda Hospital on October 12th from 9am to 12pm.  They will be giving free COVID 19 vaccines, free flu shots, free bike helmets to children 12 and under as well as various health screenings.  The health fair will take place in the Alameda Hospital parking lot located at 2070 Clinton Ave in Alameda.

On Saturday, October 12th, from 2pm to 4pm at Social Hall, there will be a "Happy Planting Workshop" to learn how to grow, propagate, and re-pot succulents together.

Here are some updates for English Children’s Church and Children’s Sunday School:

Children’s Church (1st - 5th grades) 9:15am - 11:00pm, Room 313
Note: The Children will participate with the Congregation in the Sanctuary from 9:15am to 9:35am. Between 10:45am and 11:00am, the children will be provided with snacks and have supervised free time. They can be picked up by their parents during this time, or they can remain in the room until their teachers escort them to their Sunday school classrooms at 11:00am.

Northcreek Counseling Training (NCT) Conference 2024 (in English only) will be held on 2 weekends: October 18-19. Registration is currently open. This is great training for all our members who want to be better equipped to counsel others from the Bible, and we encourage anyone interested to attend. We will reimburse the registration of anyone attending the conference for the first time. We will also reimburse the registration for all current sponsors and Sunday School teachers (first time or continuing). Praise the Lord, the Nepal Medical STM Team has been formed. The dates of the trip are November 4 to 21, 2024 and there are 6 members on the team: Bruce (dentist) and Shirley (physician) Lau, Arden Kwan (physician) and wife Mei Chow-Kwan (physician), Steve Tan, Jessica Yu (physician assistant). The 2024 FLOWER CALENDAR is available for signup. It is posted on the Church Ministry and Church News bulletin board on the hallway. If you wish to sign up, please use the flower envelopes placed on the wall next to the flower calendar, and designate your date(s) to commemorate someone or something.

If you need to park in the parking lot right next to our church on 8th St and block other people's cars on Sundays, please remember to give your car key to the parking lot usher or people in charge in Room 101, and provide your name and contact number as well. In addition, please pick up your car key in the parking lot after the Sunday services as soon as possible. If you come late, please find your key in a black box on the wall of Room 101.
