The 2025 Oakland Chinatown Lunar New Year Bazaar will take place this Saturday, January 18th and this Sunday, Jan 19th, from 10am to 5pm. The event will be on 9th and Franklin Streets. Please plan accordingly.
Monday, January 20th is the Martin Luther King Jr holiday, the church office will be closed.
2024 Contribution Tax Statements: The 2024 donation tax statements will be ready by the end of January, 2025. If you need a copy of your statement by mail or email, please contact Jenny Bang at You can also fill out the sign-up list outside of Room 101 or on the bulletin board outside of the Fellowship Hall, and your statement will be mailed or emailed to you.
The next Cantonese outreach Event, "Happy Chinese New Year", will take place on 2/2, 1:30pm in the Social Hall. Brothers and sisters in Christ and new guests are welcome to join us as we celebrate Chinese New Year together. Workshop includes: DIY mandarin orange craft (Chinese New Year decoration), testimony sharing, and refreshment. Workshop will be conducted in Cantonese.
The 2025 FLOWER CALENDAR is available for signup. It is posted on the Church Ministry and Church News bulletin board on the hallway. If you wish to sign up, please use the flower envelopes placed on the wall next to the flower calendar, and designate your date(s) to commemorate someone or something.
Operation Christmas Child – Great News!! We have gotten confirmation that some of our shoebox gifts have journeyed to the Philippines, Thailand and Mongolia! Continue to pray for the children and their families whose lives will be impacted by these shoeboxes!
The church is planning to install AED defibrillator devices for use in the event that someone has a medical event which would require its use. We are seeking individuals who have received training or certification for AED devices. If you have received training or are certified, please inform Deacon Ken either in person or via email at
The Saturday English Class (FOI & MEC) for spring semester will be from February 15th to May 3rd, every Saturday morning. The registration date will be on Sunday, February 2nd, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at CIBC. There will be a registration fee of $10/each person. Please check the church website for more details.
We are looking to recruit a pool of drivers to help drive some of the elderly Cantonese and Mandarin members to and from church. Please prayerfully consider this ministry that may shine light to those eager to come to worship God with the church body on Sundays. Here are some updates for English Children’s Church and Children’s Sunday School:
Children’s Church (1st - 5th grades) 9:15am - 11:00am, Room 313
Note: The Children will participate with the Congregation in the Sanctuary from 9:15am to 9:35am. Between 10:45am and 11:00am, the children will be provided with snacks and have supervised free time. They can be picked up by their parents during this time, or they can remain in the room until their teachers escort them to their Sunday school classrooms at 11:00am.

Parents: Please be sure to pick up your children promptly at 12:15 PM.
If you need to park in the parking lot right next to our church on 8th St and block other people's cars on Sundays, please remember to give your car key to the parking lot usher or people in charge in Room 101, and provide your name and contact number as well. In addition, please pick up your car key in the parking lot after the Sunday services as soon as possible. If you come late, please find your key in a black box on the wall of Room 101.
